The World's Largest Blooming Flower Park

Dubai Miracle Garden is currently the world's largest blooming flower park, with 50 million flowers in bloom simultaneously. Dubai Miracle Garden always maintains this number of blooming flowers, exactly 50 million. However, this doesn't mean that there are only 50 million flowers in bloom in the garden; this figure represents the minimum count, as the actual number of blooming flowers could exceed 150 million.

There are approximately 70 flower species and over 150 flower subspecies in this garden, with petunia flowers dominating the majority. The dominance of petunias is not without reason, as this type of flower is the best choice for creating floral themes. Sunflowers rank second as the most dominant flowers at Dubai Miracle Garden. Around 90% of the blooming flowers come from petunias and sunflowers, while the rest include marigolds, geraniums, coleus, violas, jasmines, asters, snapdragons, roses, and more.

These various types of flowers are arranged in specific patterns, creating a beautiful display. The flower arrangements are designed to form various large animal shapes, fairy tale castles, cars, airplanes, tunnels, human statues, and comic characters. Each creation is meticulously crafted using thousands of real flowers. There are about 1,000 flower themes in Dubai Miracle Garden, some of which are mega structures. The flower themes constantly change over time to prevent visitors from getting bored.

One of the flower themes shaped like an Emirates Airbus A380 airplane was recognized as the world's largest flower structure on December 2, 2016. This flower theme was built to scale and involved over 500,000 fresh flowers. Another flower structure is a Mickey Mouse statue standing at 18.06 meters, noted as the world's tallest topiary structure on February 25, 2018. Weighing nearly 35 tons, this statue is made up of around 100,000 plants and flowers.

Managed by Cityland Real Estate Development, this flower park was opened on February 14, 2013, on Valentine's Day. Due to its birthday coinciding with Valentine's Day, Dubai Miracle Garden is considered the world's most romantic flower park. Dubai Miracle Garden is a collaboration project between Dubailand, Dubai Properties Group, and Akar Landscaping and Agriculture Company, a landscaping and agriculture company led by Jordanian entrepreneur Abdel Nasser Rahhal.

This mega project worth US$11 million was built in several phases. The first phase, covering an area of 2,000 m², was completed in February 2013. The expansion of Dubai Miracle Garden began in mid-June 2013 and concluded in October 2013, increasing the park's area to 72,000 m², not including the 79,000 m² multi-level parking area.

The total area of the Dubai Miracle Garden complex is 190,000 m², including the 6,673 m² Dubai Butterfly Garden, free and VIP (paid) car parking, a mosque, retail shops, and a flower clock. Here, visitors can indulge in refreshing drinks or savor delicious meals surrounded by the refreshing sight of beautiful flowers.

Maintenance of Flowers at Dubai Miracle Garden

To care for the flowers and plants at Dubai Miracle Garden, about 200,000 gallons of water per day, equivalent to 757,082 liters, are required. This water is obtained from wastewater, which is then treated to become clean water for garden maintenance purposes. Plant watering at Dubai Miracle Garden is done at night after closing time. During this time, garden staff also perform maintenance tasks such as pruning and planting, ensuring that every empty space is filled with flowers or other plants.

A flower park in the desert is truly a contrasting sight. However, this is the wonder of Dubai—nothing is impossible in this desert country. This transforms the dry, hot desert into a stunningly beautiful garden. Dubai Miracle Garden is open from late September to late April, making it a perfect destination for winter holidays. The flower park is open every day from Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 21:00 local time. On weekends, Saturday and Sunday, Dubai Miracle Garden is open from 09:00 - 23:00 local time.
